On Friday 9 October 2015 60 intrepid golfers took to the fairways & greens of Clitheroe Golf Club to participate in the 3rd annual OBAFC Golf Day in this, the 90th Anniversary year of the Club.....and what a day it was! This was a lovely calm, bright, sunny and warm Autumn day of weather augmented by a golf course presented in superb condition. It was unfortunate that the later starters were blighted by the descent of darkness towards the end of their rounds.

15 teams of four engaged in an 18 hole stableford competition with a 'yellow ball' competition providing an auxiliary event. A complementary, single hole putting competition for individuals   took place after their round on a 'side of the Eiger' area of the club's practice green.

In the evening those participating enjoyed the excellent hospitality of the Clitheroe club with a presentation meal and social discourse at the bar.

OBAFC President, Roger Smith, took the opportunity to briefly address all present in the evening to bring them up to date with the current playing and financial position of the football club. He also spoke about the protracted proposal for the sale of Memorial Ground and outlined the special events held at the club to commemorate it's 90th Anniversary year. Roger extended the immense and sincere thanks of OBAFC to the golf team sponsors for their most generous support and acknowledged the participation of all taking part in what had again proved to be another successful and enjoyable golf day.

'Champions' on the day was the Clitheroe Cricket Club team which took 1st place in the stableford competition with a team score of 95 points. 2nd place team was IDM Designs with 87 points narrowly pipping (after a card 'play off') team Taylor Weaver in 3rd spot also with 87 points. Taylor Weaver additionally bagged the 'yellow ball' event with a 40 points score. Prizes were also awarded for longest drive on the 9th hole and nearest the pin strikes on the 5th and 17th holes.

All-in-all a fabulous day, heartily endorsed by everyone, which raised welcome funds for Old Blacks AFC.
